CLEANING BUSINESS MARKETING
CLEANING BUSINESS MARKETING – The most important thing
If you are the owner of a cleaning business, you may already know that marketing is one of the many things that MUST get done in order for you to be successful. But did you know this…..? That without a marketing plan, consistently utilized, it’s next to impossible for you to ever have any real measure of success in your cleaning service business.
Worse; without a good (cleaning business marketing) plan, dedicated resources (whether that’s time, effort, money, or a bit of all three) – plus the commitment to plan your work and work your plan (year in and year out come rain or shine) you’re setting yourself up for failure.
Here’s the plain truth (and I’m only sharing this with you because I want you to succeed) – If you are in business- ANY type of business– you are also in the “sales” business. That’s the simple truth.

Remember that old saying “If you build a better mouse-trap the world will beat a path to your door”? Well, I’m not sure if that was ever true but it most definitely is NOT true in 2015. AND- It cannot be applied to cleaning business marketing.
Now, I know many of you will say “I don’t want to be in the business of selling and marketing. I want to be in the business of cleaning ”. Some of you will say:
* I don’t like sales
* I’m not good at sales
* Sales people are sleazy
But, if you are in the cleaning business – marketing is just like paying the rent on your office, providing paychecks to your employees, and sending out your invoices. Its IMPERATIVE to running your business.
That being said, wouldn’t it be better to try for a mind-shift in your outlook towards cleaning business marketing, then figuring out what it takes, and getting it done? And, what I’ve found over the years is that (sort of like healthy eating or going to the gym) the hardest part is just getting started!
But, if you have a personal trainer (that’s me) who through years of failing and then succeeding, study, training, and hard work has figured out;

* The best -most effective way to do it
* How often it needs to be done
* When to do it
* Where to do it
* What you should do before hand & afterwards to get the best results

PLUS
You’re doing all of this with a Master-Mind group of people working on the exact same thing as you- so you’re able to share your ideas, successes, support each other and learn from mistakes (with me checking in to help) along the way-wouldn’t that make it easier?

Wouldn’t that even make it FUN?
Here’s another old saying: “The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time”.
So, what I’ve learned is that if I stop doing marketing when things are good (because I’m too busy servicing my existing clients) or when things are bad (because I can’t afford the cost of marketing) , then it grows into a giant elephant that I can’t possibly swallow.
But, if I take bite-sized pieces of the thing, I’m able to make amazing progress in getting the elephant (or any BIG task) taken care of.

So, whether its:

I. Referrals and Personal Networking

II. Strategic Alliances and Joint Venture Partners

III. Website Development

IV. Social Media

V. Public Speaking

VI. Business Networking and Events

VII. Philanthropy

VIII. Awards, PR and Press

IX. Paid Advertising

X. Postal and Email Campaigns

or a combination of the above…….
The ONE BIG THING I want to share with you is that you MUST do the all- important work of marketing for your business. And, you need to do it correctly and regularly.
Now that you’ve accepted that there’s just no way to around it, it’s simply a matter of finding what tools work best (the ones successful cleaning business owners use) and putting them to work for you. The rest is simple.
Hint: I’m willing to share my tools with you!
P.S. One more saying and this one really is true: Just Do It
